Please enjoy viewing some of our Corgi puppy pictures at the left. Here is a great video of Corgi fun at the Rocky L: See Video here. And here's a little more information about some of the Rocky L Corgis: Our Star Corgi boy is CH Faerie Glen Markers Regent AJP AXP RE, aka "Simon" - what a HANDSOME guy he is too! He earned his conformation Championship 12/9/2007, with one Best of Breed and 3 Best of Opposite. Since we are all about versatility, we also train and compete in performance events. "Simon" has been competing in agility trials since 2004. In 2007 he took an "agility" break and finished three Rally titles in a row! Now we are looking towards a CD title, although lately he's been seen vaulting and tunneling once again, back to agility fun!
In October 2009, Simon got to try Lure Coursing with the "Big Boys" (Borzois, Afghans, etc.) and he LOVED it. He won his first two races; beating Fannie by half a length and a long haired Dachshund, who was lighting fast and had much more experience. By the fourth race Simon was done running - 200 yards is a long way when you have 6 inch legs... he never gave up tho, and trotted all the way to the end in order to "get" that lure!
"Fannie" (aka Rocky L Pajama Party, CERF normal, vWD clear, OFA Good) is our second generation mother dog (retired) and veteran agility competitor. She runs around like a whirling dervish in her own independent and unique style, while monitoring the horses and ducks, on hiatus, while her "girl" has gone to college....
Fannie and Simon both competed at the Agility Trials at the 2006 Pembroke Welsh Corgi Nationals in Santa Rosa, CA. (Videos here) "Meg" (aka Rocky L Phantom of the Opera, CERF normal, vWD clear, OFA Excellent) was Fannie's daughter and our third generation PWC. She began her show career with a BANG, winning BOS in Sweeps and a BW for a four point Major in Colorado. In 2007 Meg was bred to CH Larklain Rogers Magic Marker, from Wyoming. She had eight beautiful puppies November 19, 2007; click here to see pictures and learn more about this litter. (Puppy Video) All puppies were placed in their "forever" homes in three states. Four have been doing very well on the show circuit in 2008-09. After her maternity leave, she was back in the show ring in April 2008, and won two Reserve WBs against stellar competition, proving she still "had it." Sadly, in May, 2008, Meg unexpectedly passed away. We miss her.
Luckily, her lovely spirit lives on. We saved two beautiful puppies from her last litter to show in CA, "Marcie" and "Patty." Two others are pointed and showing in OK and TN. Marcie finished in a whirl of shows in late 2009, while Patty earned a few points and went on to motherhood, giving us a beautiful litter in early 2010. She is now retired and living with her "family" and two human kids in N. CA, keeping company with her half-brother "Guinness." "Marcie's" shadow looks a lot like a kitty...check it out! -> (Video here) We liked "Marker" so much we imported another daughter of his from WY: Larklain Markers Jalapeno Hottie, aka "Veda," who had a very successful puppy year in the conformation show-ring, earning the right be named the annual "Best Puppy" in 2007 from the Golden Gate Pembroke Welsh Corgis Fanciers. Bred to an Australian import, she whelped March 31, 2009. Two of these puppies hit the showring in late 2009, Rocky L Funny Girl and Rocky L Good Golly Miss Molly. Wish their new families the best of luck: Gwen & Randy, Cassidy & Melanie!
To see and learn more about this litter (CLICK HERE) The heart and soul of breeding the PWC is the opportunity to share them with others. Yes, we are striving for the "perfect show dog" while still maintaining a great temperament and ability to achieve performance versatility as well (the "all-around" Corgi). However, there are some really fabulous PWC breeders out there and conformation competition is really tough. This means the dogs are well-bred, health certified and bred to stay that way. We are lucky if one or two from a litter reach the level of excellence to succeed in conformation competition. The rest are not "bad" corgis, they also have the great breeding behind them, but just don’t make the cut for the show ring. "The Pet Family" is the big winner in these cases. Please enjoy some of the pictures and videos from our "forever homes" (some pet; some show) where our puppies have found happiness and provide warmth, laughter and love to their lucky families.
